January 03, 2019Reviewer: John in North Carolina* I don't like the taste of most alternative sweeteners such as Stevia. Some of the monkfruit products I have had tasted better than even erythritol, so I decided to try Lankanto's Chocolate Syrup. It was very runny, but that didn't bother me. However, the taste was completely awful. I am usually able to describe the taste of foods, but I just can't come up with the words. I consider myself a foodie (when I am not restricted by keto), and can even eat durian on occasion. After 2 attempts to taste this syrup, it went in the trash. I rarely throw food away, but couldn't see myself (or anyone else) trying to consume this.

It took three tablespoons to get a milk chocolate flavour which ended up almost too sweet. It's also pretty expensive. I used two tablespoons of the sugar free Hershey's and liked it much better and at a lot less cost! I like the Lakanto golden monkfruit sweetener but I will not order the chocolate syrup again.
